An encounter is underway between security forces and militants in the Guddar forest area of Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir, officials confirmed on Sunday.
According to Kashmir Zonal Police, the operation began after security agencies received specific intelligence inputs about militant presence in the area. Personnel from the Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police, the Indian Army, and the CRPF have jointly cordoned off the forest and are engaged in the encounter.
“Based on specific intelligence, an #encounter has started in Guddar forest of #Kulgam. SOG of J&K Police, Army and CRPF on job. Further details to follow,” the police said in a post on X.
